Gotakami

🌊 TideCOMMON
Pulled one from a trap yesterday, squirming between my fingers like a thumb-sized tadpole made of water. Its tail curled back on itself, copper-bright, the shape of a half-inch bend. I felt it pulse once and knew it had just broken free from somewhere dark. Gotakami. It belongs in the tide now.
A public bestiary sighting ready for review.

What the Bend Says same Kami, other eyes

“Heard about these tadpole things in the pipes, water-drop shaped with copper tails, and I thought it was superstition until a plumber showed me one in a jar. It pulsed once and I felt it in my ribs, fresh and breaking free from dark.”
Elena "Print" Vasquez · sign painter, print-shop owner
“Held that little water kami in my palm and it pulsed like a heartbeat, fighting to get back to the bay where it belonged. Let it go in the tide and watched it disappear into something bigger than itself, and I knew that was the whole point.”
Don Refugio "El Cuento" Ybarra · porch storyteller, retired King Ranch hand
